Mozilla Rainbow: new Plugin to record audio and video directly from your browser

Mozilla Rainbow is a new plugin for Firefox, still under development, which will capture and store audio and video content on the web directly from your browser.

The add-on Rainbow is written in JavaScript and generates files encoded in open formats: Theora (For video) and Vorbis (For audio) into a Ogg container. The resulting files are accessible in the DOM using the API of HTML5.

At the time of this writing Rainbow is only available for Mac OS X version requires the latest nightly builds of Firefox to work … but you can read the official statement that they are working to extend support to Windows, and Linux platforms 64 bit.
