Linux for netbook and nettop is here Moblin, a version specially created and designed for devices with the Intel Atom processors. Moblin arises under the sponsorship and development sponsored by Intel that lasted several years to see the light.
Moblin is already available but in a beta version, as we know these beta versions are used to find and highlight potential bugs in the design and software programming.
Among other things the beta version of Moblin, offers users a new completely new graphical interface started from scratch using the Clutter Animation Framework
As we can see in the picture, there is a navigation bar that can access music tools, multimedia content to the Internet using Firefox, we also see access to the synchronization of calendars, appointments, tasks and social networks.
Its creators say Moblin 2.0 fixed their development in three important ways:
- First battery saving, as this designed for netboos as mentioned.
- The operating system boot faster.
- The third and most important, the low use of memory.
For those interested in trying this OS, they can immediately download it, its 680MB and remember this is a beta version, so if you find any bugs feel free to report it to Bugzilla.
