Google recently announced one of its largest projects that is called Google Fiber, and which is about offering Internet surfing more than 100 times the normal speed connections that are available in today’s common connections , It will be a trial-only network, not Google’s entry into telecommunications services. And while the planned network won’t be cheap, in the end it will be worth the price.
Google says “Our networks will deliver Internet speeds more than 100 times faster than what most Americans have access to today — over 1 gigabit per second, fiber-to-the-home connections,” explains Google product manager James Kelly. “We’ll offer service at a competitive price to at least 50,000 and potentially up to 500,000 people.”
Certainly the Project is in beta and will be tested in the residential college at Stanford, so that about 850 schools will have the opportunity test a connection of 1 GB per second. At the moment this project is expected to become operational from the first weeks of next year, Google hopes that it would charge what connection those in normal, since obviously the project can not be free.
So just wait till the service is available in your area and you may try your hands at, till then sit back and stick to your slow internet connection and be happy with that!
