Facebook announced the release of a new application for iPhone and Android called Facebook Messenger, with which you communicate with your Facebook friends easier than ever. Facebook Messenger is a faster way to message. Reach friends right on their phones, get and send messages fast, message everyone at once and more. This new application is available on the iTunes Store for U.S. and Canada and soon will be available around the world (presumably within the next few weeks).
Facebook has long ago bought Beluga, a multi-platform instant messaging between groups of people and Facebook Messenger seems to be the result of that purchase because in reality it seems that the application is the same only with further integration with Facebook .
For screenshots and reviews what I’ve read is that Facebook Messenger is very well done and it’s too easy and quick to use. In my opinion it’s a great idea to have a different application to communicate with your friends because to be honest the Facebook application left much to be desired in this respect.
Currently there is no specific date when it will for other stores around the world, but if you have an iTunes account in the United States can download without problems from the following link: Facebook Messenger.
