The use BitTorrent as a means has many advantages. For example, for users with slow connections, lets you download large files with the assurance that if you pause or stop a download, this will automatically start from where it was previously. This will avoid loss of files.
Burnbit is a service that transforms a direct download (from servers like Rapidshare or Megaupload) to a torrent available for download. Burnbit servers are good for seeder so that the torrent files get good download speeds.
For now this service is only compatible with sites that offer downloads via HTTP and HTTPS using FTP is not supported at the moment but maybe in the near future they may add support for this.
